Tom and Amye Waterfall, Chagford
On the north easterly side of Dartmoor you will find the charming market town of Chagford. With a vibrant community and fantastic selection of quirky shops and restaurants, it’s no wonder this is one of the most sought after towns in Devon to live in 2021.
Tom and Amye Waterfall along with their two children are lucky enough to call this town their home. They live in a a semi detached property in which they’ve used both our Ash and Oak flooring throughout. As a family home, it was important for their flooring choice to be practical and durable, as well as homely and warm on the feet.
The family first purchased our Ash flooring and then a year later enquired about our Oak flooring. Both orders are mixed width, and used in separate rooms within the house. The Ash boards lead you up the stairs and then across bedrooms and the children’s playroom providing a practical and light durable flooring whilst bringing light into the home. Being so close to Dartmoor, where muddy walks are an everyday part of life, a practical, hard wearing floor is an important factor to consider.
A mix of Ash and Oak compliment each other throughout the cottage, and are a subtle nod towards the wilderness of Dartmoor over the horizon. The Oak creates warmth and cosiness in the home, whereas the Ash gives a fresher feel to darker spaces.
The family have created a garden room at the back of their property with our Oak flooring laid across the whole. Our flooring provides a natural and sustainable flooring inside their home, a theme which continues to grow as you enter their garden. The garden extension is built using a green living roof, creating a wildlife haven on their home in the midst of the town.
We recently bought an Ash floor from you for our loft in Chagford which is looking great, thank you!
